The Lincoln Highway Adventure and Moveable Feast
Enjoy an adventure with a trip along the historic Lincoln Highway Byway from South Bend to Wolf Lake, Indiana. Take the Lincoln Highway Adventure across the 1913 route of the Lincoln Higway Byway to explore the scenery taking in historic sites, dining and shopping in Mishawaka, Elkhart, Goshen, Kimmell and Ligonier guided by a turn-by-turn guidebook full of interesting information. Cap the day by attending the Moveable Feast taking your taste buds from Ligonier to Wolf Lake. Bring the kids - those 18 and under join us for free with a paid adult registration!
Register a car for the Lincoln Highway Adventure and receive an Adventure Bag filled with a dash plaque, Adventure guidebook, informational material from each county and discount coupons. The turn-by-turn booklet gets you from place to place with information about selected sites. There is no limit on how many people you can bring along in your car so bring the whole family or a few friends to enjoy the day. Pre-registration is required. Check in for the Advnture will be from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. EDT at the Studebaker National Museum. At registration you will receive the turn by turn guidebook and other information for the day.
Register per adult for the Moveable Feast. You will revice your tickets for the Moveable Feast when you check in for appetizers at the Solomon Mier Manor. Appetizers begin at 4:30 p.m. EDT in Ligonier at the Solomon Mier Manor Bed and Breakfast and nearby Ahavath Scholom Temple (the recent awardee of an Indiana Landmarks Endangered Places Grant). Stop by the neighbors along the way to see some restorations in progress.
Dinner follows at Stone's Trace historic site where you can tour the historic tavern rescued in the late 1960's after being converted to a barn, enjoy period music on the lawn and meet a period musket reenactor.
Finish the evening with dessert at the Kimmell House Bed and Breakfast and the Luckey Hospital in Wolf Lake - site of the area's first professional hospital.
Car Clubs are invited to caravan along the route and will enjoy a special discount on the Adventure for five or more cars.
Members of Indiana Landmarks or Indiana Lincoln Highway Association receive a discounted registration.
Detailed check in and participation information will be provided to paid registrants via email. You will pick up your Adventure Bag at registration the morning of July 21st at the Studebaker National Museum, 201 Chapin Street South Bend..
